How to delete your account
Sign in, open your Profile → Security tab, and use the "Delete my account" control. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm and to have signed in within the last 5 minutes.
We delete profile records, event registrations, mentor and pair-programming requests, hackathon submissions you made on your own behalf, and game state. We anonymizerather than delete community messages, cookbook entries, and Q&A posts so other users' threads aren't broken — your name, avatar, and any links to your profile are scrubbed; the post content is retained with author deleted-user.
Some records are retained for legitimate audit reasons: hackathon team objects (which are shared with your former teammates), badges already issued to others, and event attendance ledgers used for capacity planning. None of these contain your name or email after the cascade runs.
How to export your data
From the same Security tab, use "Download my data" to receive a JSON file in our documented portable schema (cursor-boston-data-export-v1).
