Hands-on open source contributions with Cursor as your AI co-pilot — co-hosted with AIC

2026-05-3012:00 PM – 5:00 PM ET
TBD (exact address after approval)

About This Event

We're thrilled to announce the Open Source Drop-In Workshop, co-hosted by Cursor Boston and AIC (AI Community).

This is a hands-on half-day session designed to teach you how to contribute to real open source projects using Cursor as your AI co-pilot. Whether you've never opened a pull request or you're a seasoned contributor looking for high-impact projects, there's a track for you.

Two Tracks

Track A — Cursor Boston Repo (Beginner-Friendly): Learn the fundamentals of open source contribution by working directly on the Cursor Boston community repository. Mentors will guide you through forking, branching, making changes, and opening your first PR.

Track B — Curated Impactful Projects: For more experienced developers, we've hand-picked a set of impactful open source projects with beginner-friendly issues. Use Cursor's AI capabilities to understand unfamiliar codebases quickly and ship meaningful contributions.

What You'll Walk Away With

Merged pull requests on real open source projects, Cursor credits, and practical skills you can use immediately. This isn't a lecture — it's a working session where you'll ship real code.

Hosted by Roger Hunt, Ananya Shah, Janna, Kanal Patel, and Jason Morris.
